Anyone who knows me, knows how much I value healthy habits and teaching our students the value in healthy eating! Our little school had the great fortune of partnering with Penn State PRO Wellness and Webster’s Café for a “Go For The Greens” nutrition initiative! Students were able to try vegetables in a variety of fun and interesting ways. I was both surprised and pleased with our students’ willingness to participate in culinary adventures and new experiences! We were able to try a variety of unique vegetable inspired dishes including; crispy chickpeas, creamy broccoli/cheddar soup, celery sticks, carrots w/ sunflower seed dip, "green" falafel balls and cucumber salad. To top it off each student went home with a bamboo tomato planter and healthy snack box! ~ Nurse Andi!
